When attempting to reduce your usage of single-use plastics, aim to use products that are in reusable, biodegradable or compostable packaging, such as paper, cardboard, wood, bamboo, metal, foil or glass.

 

Share your concerns about plastic polluton with your Member of Congress (MOC).  Learn who your MOC is at: www.congress.gov/contact-us 

 

Here is a script to get you started:

Dear (Member of Congress Name),                                 I am concerned about plastic pollution and want to ask you to present and/or support bills that help the United States reduce single-use, throw-away plastic and the damage it is causing in our environment.

Reuse

Many everday single-use objects can be reused and/or turned into long lasting ones. For example, you can reuse plastic food containers by using them to hold craft items or as drawer organizers. You can also save your plastic shopping bags for your next shopping trip or as a trash can liners.
